, PAINKILLER’s director, picked up an award at the first-ever Wreak Havoc Horror Film Festival for his work on this short.
The festival ran October 9th and 10th at the historic Ansonia Theatre in Wadesboro, NC. PAINKILLER was one of the festival’s official selections — along with 30 other short films and 4 feature films that a panel of 12 judges carefully selected from 653 submissions.
DITCH — a 3-minute thriller — is a collaboration between Jerry Janda (PAINKILLER’s writer/executive producer/co-star) and Jeffrey Scott Gould (PAINKILLER’s cinematographer/executive producer/editor). Jerry wrote DITCH, and Jeff provided the cinematography and editing. Jerry and Jeff also directed and produced this taut mini-short.
Jerry and Jeff plan to make even more shorts (two are in pre-production), and we’re looking forward to seeing what else they come up with!
You can watch DITCH below. Check it out!

Members of the PAINKILLER crew reunited this weekend to shoot a scene for BLACK WAKE, a feature film written by Jerry Janda (who also wrote, produced, and co-starred in PAINKILLER).
BLACK WAKE is directed by Jeremiah Kipp (PAINKILLER’s director) and co-stars Kelly Rae LeGault (the star of PAINKILLER). Jerry makes a cameo as a police officer, and, by all accounts, probably needed a painkiller after filming wrapped.
We’re really looking forward to seeing how this collaboration turns out when BLACK WAKE is released next year!
Jerry Janda (PAINKILLER’s writer/producer/co-star) and Jeffrey Scott Gould (PAINKILLER’s cinematographer/producer/editor) have teamed up to co-direct a series of horror micro-shorts.
They wrapped their first — DITCH — on September 19.
Break a leg, guys!
