Members of the PAINKILLER crew reunited this weekend to shoot a scene for BLACK WAKE, a feature film written by Jerry Janda (who also wrote, produced, and co-starred in PAINKILLER).
BLACK WAKE is directed by Jeremiah Kipp (PAINKILLER’s director) and co-stars Kelly Rae LeGault (the star of PAINKILLER). Jerry makes a cameo as a police officer, and, by all accounts, probably needed a painkiller after filming wrapped.
We’re really looking forward to seeing how this collaboration turns out when BLACK WAKE is released next year!
Jerry Janda (PAINKILLER’s writer/producer/co-star) and Jeffrey Scott Gould (PAINKILLER’s cinematographer/producer/editor) have teamed up to co-direct a series of horror micro-shorts.
They wrapped their first — DITCH — on September 19.
Break a leg, guys!

Wreak Havoc Horror Film Fest will hold its first-ever event on Friday, October 9, and Saturday, October 10, at the historic Ansonia Theatre in Wadesboro, NC — and PAINKILLER is on the program!
The festival received more than 650 submissions, and PAINKILLER was one of the 35 selections to make the cut. That’s quite an honor for us!
Members of the PAINKILLER cast and crew have been busy with new projects!
Jeffrey Scott Gould is working on a documentary about a condition called Misophonia. Check out its Indiegogo page!
Elsewhere, Jeremiah Kipp is directing BLACK WAKE, a feature film based on a script written by Jerry Janda. The film co-stars Kelly Rae LeGault.
Expect more details about BLACK WAKE (a Red Entertainment production) in the coming months!
PAINKILLER received three nominations at the 2015 HorrorHound Weekend Film Festival — including best director and best actress — and won the award for best short!
This award is a tremendous honor, and one that the cast and crew share with all of our supporters. We are grateful to everyone who has helped make PAINKILLER possible. And we hope that this award — one of the many that PAINKILLER continues to win — helps validate all of the contributions and efforts that our supporters made on our behalf. We could not have achieved anything without them.

We’re happy to report excellent postproduction progress on PAINKILLER! Our awesome editor, Jeffrey S. Gould (also our director of photography and an executive producer), has been putting in long hours, logging footage, editing, color grading, as well as creating visual effects to enhance the film. This is the beginning of the collaborative process that will include our sound designer and composer, Barbara J. Weber, as well as director Jeremiah Kipp and Jerry Janda (writer, executive producer, and co-star). We can’t wait for you to see the end result. For now, here’s a taste of what’s to come!
